Nigel Hodson, NAVA Trainer

Nigel Hodson

Nigel Hodson was born in Staffordshire and Educated at Tettenhall College in Wolverhampton. He developed his skills as an Auctioneer, competed at National level in the ISVA Novice Auction competition finishing runner up in the Chattels division in 1977. Joined Biddle and Webb in Birmingham as Auctioneer and Fine Art department Manager in 1982, selling at that time in excess of 2000 lots per week

Nigel then joined Henry Spencer and Sons with Coles Knapp and Kennedy in Ross on Wye in 1986 as Valuer and subsequently Saleroom Manager. Nigel moved to John Francis in Carmarthen in 1990 and became Sole Principal in 2006.

Charles Hampshire, NAVA Trainer

Charles Hampshire

After graduating from Aberystwyth University with a Law degree, Charles became an auctioneer and valuer with Peter Francis Auctioneers in South Wales, specialising in antiques and fine art. Having grown up watching his father run an auction house in Devon it seemed a natural progression to enter the industry.

In his first year of conducting auctions Charles won the NAVA Auctioneer of the Year competition and proceeded to take his professional qualifications.
