Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is integral to membership. It shows our members are constantly keeping up-to-date with changes to the industry. Members identify their own development needs specific to auctioneering, they attend relevant events and undertake study to meet those needs.

At least four hours' CPD is expected to be recorded through the attendance of an event or training course. Members will later submit their learning outcomes online in the members’ area where a log is kept against their My CPD profile to be reviewed by the membership team.

We hold three of the most significant events for the industry in the Autumn. These are the Autumn Form, Novice Auctioneer of the Year competition and the Annual Dinner. We also hold a number of courses across the UK and throughout the year, which all count towards accumulating CPD hours. Remember that members receive a discounted rate on these courses and events so be sure to use this to your advantage. Remaining hours can be completed through private study and reading.

The total hours that we request is based on one hour per month. Therefore if you join NAVA in May you would be expected to record seven hours CPD for the months June through to December.
