This unique event will provide an opportunity for delegates to handle works in ceramics while experiencing a practical guide in identification by Jeremy Lamond one of the country's most esteemed and successful auctioneers and specialists. 

The session will cover English, Continental, Chinese and Japanese ceramics. Attendees to come away with a working knowledge of the basic differences between these ceramics in terms of material, appearance, identifying marks. This session will also include a brief history of ceramics which they can follow up with a book list provided of key texts to consult.

14:30 - 16:00   Group sessions for ceramics handling and identification

16:00 - 16:30   Coffee and open forum for questions

Meet Your Host

Jeremy Lamond

Director, Halls Holdings Ltd

After completing a degree in Modern History at Newcastle Upon Tyne University, Jeremy worked for Christie’s London, and then moved to Phillips Chester as Head of the Porcelain Department, he moved to Halls in 1996 and became a Director of the company in 2001. Jeremy specialises in 18th century English and European ceramics and Asian Art and was appointed Head of the Fine Art Department in May 2005.
