A Wide and Varied Membership
Offering the Complete Range
of Valuation Services

Probate

Probate is a suspended state
into which an estate can be
put as a result of
contention arising from the
conditions of a will or from
the lack of one. Whether
you're the executor or the
solicitor
you'll need a valuation of
all effects and, very
probably, advice on the
disposal of items.

Insurance

Being under-insured affects
the terms of all contents
policies and it's your
responsibility to ensure
that your valuations are up
to date.

Inheritance

If you inherit goods or
property, you may be
required to obtain a
valuation of those items to
determine whether or not
inheritance tax might be
payable. Whether you are the
recipient of items or the
solicitor dealing with the
estate valuations will be
required on all items.

Family Division

Divorce is always a
difficult process. One of
the most contentious aspects
of any settlement is the
division of property and
effects. Valuations are
often an essential element
of this process to ensure
that both parties benefit
from a realistic
appreciation of jointly
accrued items.

The NAVA members don't just
value fine art and
furniture. Many are involved
in the complex field of
commercial and industrial
assets, undertaking
valuations for acquisition,
disposal, insurance, share
value allocation and
insolvency purposes.

Commercial Asset Valuers
usually work on the
instructions of liquidators,
receivers, banks and
accountants to create an
inventory, report and
valuation.

Asset value is determined
differently according to the
purpose of the valuation.
Disposal of assets are
carried out by tender,
private treaty or auction,
either from the client's own
premises or after removal to
the auctioneer's sale rooms.
Using a commercial valuer
who is a NAVA member assures
you of Best Practice.

The variety of assets
commercial valuers are
called upon to evaluate can
include engineering and
manufacturing factories,
agricultural machinery,
contractors' plant, office
and shop furniture, trade
stock, fixtures & fittings
of licensed premises and
nursing homes and commercial
vehicles.

Disposal

Do you have an item you
think may be valuable but
have no real idea? And, if
it were valuable, might you
then be interested in
selling it? Only a
professional valuation will
ensure that you are in full
possession of the facts.
