Our first sale of 2006 saw a new World Record price set for British 20th Century Artist John Piper (1903 – 1992), £ 84,000.

Contested on the telephone and in the room, significant interest was received pre-sale over the internet and, despite Continental bidding (USA and Europe) the picture sold to a personal bidder in the room representing London Dealer Richard Green.

The underbidder, also in the room, was a significant collector of the works of this artist.
